PRINCE OF POT STILL IN LIMBO

The fate of Vancouver's Prince of Pot is still uncertain after his
extradition hearing yesterday was again postponed while Canadian and
American prosecutors negotiate how to legally sentence him in both countries.

Marc Emery and two associates, Michelle Rainey and Greg Williams, are
accused of selling marijuana seeds to Americans over the Internet.

If convicted in the United States they face 10 years to life in prison.

A plea bargain is in the works that would send Emery to the United
States for a brief prison term, followed by five years in a Canadian jail.

"The Canadian prosecutorial service doesn't think that it's (legal)
to make a deal where a Canadian judge is compelled to . put me in
jail for a minimum length of time," Emery said.

"This to me is more like collaboration with the United States. It's
like outsourcing our justice system."

Emery said he's willing to plead guilty if the charges against Rainey
and Williams are dropped.

His next court appearance is set for April 9.
