LOGIC GOES TO POT The dopey, so-called prince of pot, Marc Emery, deserves his jail sentence. Idiotic comparisons of his five-year sentence to lesser sentences for other major crimes only highlight our own moronic, soft approach to crime. For those too high to understand it, the shame is not that Emery received a larger jail sentence than some murderers, rapists and thieves but that these kinds of crimes are drawing such meaningless sentences in the first place. In the U.S., Emery would likely get 15 years for his crime at least, so he should count himself fortunate he was allowed to serve time in a lax Canadian jail. Emery wantonly flouted the law and now gets the reward he richly deserves. Barry Banek (He's basking in his role as poster child for legalization.) - --- MAP posted-by: Jay Bergstrom
