DON'T FOLLOW US

RE "It's time we kicked the UKP1bn drug habit" (News, July 27): I
submit that almost 100 per cent of your so-called "drug-related
crime" is caused by your drug prohibition policies -- not the drugs themselves.

Lots of people are addicted to the drugs nicotine and caffeine yet
very few of these addicts resort to crime to pay for their habit.
That's because their drugs of choice are legal, therefore affordable.
Criminalise either of these drugs and the situation would soon change.

Regarding your drug policy, my advice is to carefully observe US drug
policy - then do the opposite.

Don't follow us - we lost.
