NO NEED FOR DEBATE - PROHIBITION IS A FAILURE

The Editor:

Re: 'End prohibition, gangs disappear,' May 25 Times.

There is no debate needed.

The facts are clear and incontrovertible - prohibition is a
failure.

Anyone who calls for the end of prohibition is a sensible,
community-minded person.

Anyone who calls for continued or increased prohibition efforts is
actively lobbying for organized crime.

How can I make such a bold statement?

Every time someone criticizes prohibition, they are accused of being
crazy, hedonistic, evil, and all manner or public enemy bent on
corrupting the children.

Who levels these accusations? Quasi-moralistic hypocrites who discuss
war-on-certain-drugs strategy over cocktails.

The government, judiciary, and police have enacted and enforce laws
that subsidize organized crime, drain public funds and endanger the
public.

The government, judiciary system and police system are now a criminal
gang waging a war against all of us, and we need to stop the war
before it turns into an even bigger bloodbath.

Yes. It really is that serious.
