NEW LOOK FOR DARE NEW ZEALAND

DARE New Zealand has a new logo, but it was one which took programme
educator Pup Chamberlain some time to grow used to.

"To be honest when I saw the new graphic it had the 'tagging' look
about it, but in the new colours on the trailer it looks great," Mr
Chamberlain said.

DARE has rebranded nationwide and this has necessitated a repainting
of the programme's Mid Canterbury trailer.

Rotary Club of Ashburton donated $1500 for the work.

DARE New Zealand is no longer affiliated to the American
organisation, so no longer uses the organisation's logo and trademark
red and black colours, having substituted the latter for a striking
grey and orange.

And while DARE originally stood for Drug Awareness Resistance
Education, now the New Zealand group is called simply DARE Skills for
Life.

Mr Chamberlain said the new look effectively showed that DARE New
Zealand was no longer affiliated to the American organisation.

"This is really a total rebranding, we like to stand on our own
merits," he said.

The Mid Canterbury DARE trailer is used for transporting equipment
for school student activity fun days. Classes undertaking the Dare To
Make a Choice Programme are rewarded with a fun day at the end.
