SOMEONE PLEASE SAVE OUR PARK

Dear editor

The community is fed up. Centennial Park has turned into a refuge for
underage drinking, drug use, and a complete ill regard for the
environment. You can find everything in the way of garbage, and, some
days, needles. The spray-painting vandalism on the trees and park
facilities has gone critical.

The situation has even reared its ugly head in the pond we all enjoy.
The elders are scared. The public wants answers and the RCMP has been
powerless to enforce the laws that are being broken.

What about the cop on the beat? When we had city cops they could walk
the beat, and would give a hoot because they grew up here. City cops
are not transferred out, leaving behind chaos for the next
officercoming in, who knows jack about the people or the community.

Citizens met in the park, and the pictures we all took hopefully will
start the wheels of proper justice rolling, and maybe this little
write-up will help to get the attention of our lacking city officials
and the law enforcement we all pay for through property taxes.

Could someone please save our family recreation area? Please listen.
Why don't you bring your families down there to play. It appears our
officials are asleep. It is sad to say it looks like a big city drug
park and is just as filthy.
