DRUG HOUSE INITIATIVE BEING HELD IN GRANDE PRAIRIE

With the number of drug houses popping up in major cities, as well as
towns and villages throughout the province, a presentation on the
"Report a Drug House Initiative" will be held in Grande Prairie.

Detective Maurice Brodeur of the Edmonton Police Service will
describe the success the program has in Edmonton and how it can be
duplicated in other parts of the province.

His presentation will be in the Trumpeter Hotel & Meeting Centre
Richmond C Room on Thursday, March 15 at 7 p.m. The presentation is
free but space is limited so pre-registration is encouraged by
calling 780-830-5035.

On the topic of drugs, a luncheon and brief presentation regarding
student drug and alcohol use is being held on Monday, March 12 at the
First Floor South Conference Room at Grande Prairie City Hall from
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The objective of the Social Norms survey is to dispel misconceptions
surrounding drug and alcohol use in a community's student population.
Results of Drumheller's 85/15 campaign will be discussed, as well as
the feasibility of implementing a similar project in the Grande Prairie area.

RSVP to Kristy at 780-830-5035.

Both presentations are being hosted by the Community Action on Crime
Prevention.
