WAR HAS GONE ON FOR FAR TOO LONG

Editor, the Gazette,

As a law-abiding, tax-paying American, I urge my fellow citizens to
start making phone calls and writing letters or sending e-mails and
faxes to our representatives, senators and the president. Perhaps we
can go to Washington, D.C., and rally to get this insane war stopped.

We have wasted billions of tax dollars on this senseless conflict,
but the deaths and violence are escalating.Just last night, an Ohio
officer was killed in the line of duty for his country. This war has
gone on too long, and we are not winning nor can we win. Congress
should immediately stop the funding for this losing battle. Since we
can't win, it is time for us to throw up our hands and quit. Congress
should make a nonbinding resolution stating they don't believe
America can win this war. After all, the fear was concocted decades
ago and we all know we've been deceived, because there is no real
threat to anyone.

Let's stop fighting this war on drugs and the dealers and junkies
will all go away and we will live happily ever after.
