That demand is fuelled by every working, middle- and upper-class user of "recreational" drugs, from marijuana to cocaine and everything in between. Let there be no hand-wringing when the obvious conclusion to the fight for drug-distribution dollars is bodies in the streets. Before you light up your next "harmless" hit or party with recreational drugs, give some thought to your own responsibility for what is happening. Those of you who live in nice homes, have good jobs, go to church and are nice to your neighbours -- where do you get your "recreational" drugs? And where do your suppliers get theirs? I guess that as long as the gangs just keep killing each other, no one really cares. Does it make a difference that innocent people have already been killed so you can have your weekend fix? As long as people disassociate themselves from the end result, they will just carry on using the fuel that sustains these gang wars on our streets.
