WHAT LAWS ARE NEXT ON SPITZER'S AGENDA?

My congratulations to Governor Spitzer for his recent decision to
allow illegal immigrants to secure New York state driver's licenses!
It's about time someone with political power exercised it without
fear of political fallout from those who disagree.

His implementation of "real world" solutions for "real world"
problems is laudable. One can only hope that this is just the first
step in new legal policies for our state which recognize as facts the
widespread violation of certain written laws. Abandoning enforcement
of such laws will not only result, as Governor Spitzer has said, in
greater safety for residents, but will also substantially reduce
costs for law enforcement activities which have proven ineffective over time.

Next on the agenda? Ignoring distribution and use of illegal drugs,
cessation of traffic law enforcement, nonpursuit of tax fraud,
allowance of illegal gambling activities -- all widespread "real
world" problems for which the best solution is (according to Governor
Spitzer's apparent policies) looking the other way.
