PARDON HIM

Walker - Re: "Woman says father saved her life by killing boyfriend," Jan. 22.

If ever there was a criminal conviction that deserved an immediate
federal government pardon, the case of Kim Walker in Yorkton, Sask., is it.

I know he killed another human being. But, in the damned-if-you-do,
damned-if-you-don't situation he found his daughter Jadah, involved
in -- Walker did the right thing.

Many armchair judges would say otherwise. However, in the real world
of drug dealers, addicts and an impotent justice system, families are
left with few options to protect loved ones.

This is a case that demonstrates the struggle families have in
protecting their kids from predatory drug dealers who are masters at
manipulating the legal system and the addicts they suck the life from.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper would show great compassion and a true
sense of justice in pardoning Walker.
