NO. 1 CROP FOR REASON
To the Editor:
The Union Democrat doesn't get it ("Pot farms thrive despite best
CAMP efforts," editorial, Aug. 15). If cannabis (marijuana) were
re-legalized and regulated it would be less of a pervasive problem
than it is today.
With millions of citizens choosing to use the relatively safe
God-given cannabis (kaneh-bosm: cannabis in the Old Testament) plant
it's not surprising millions of plants are being grown across the
nation. Americans have every right to choose using cannabis, even
Biblically, and should demand a regulated cultivation and market
system to make it available. Government shouldn't lasciviously
prohibit, persecute and exterminate cannabis. Either way the great
demand for cannabis will be met. That's why it's the No. 1 leading
crop in many states. It's obviously time to re-legalize cannabis.
