WORLDWIDE CRIME STOPPERS MONTH

January Has Been Proclaimed As Crime Stoppers Month Worldwide.

At last years Crime Stoppers International Conference in Albuquerque,
New Mexico, Manitoba Crime Stoppers received it*s first international
award. Our program received the Productivity Award for *Greatest
Increase in Total Property Recovered* (Illegal Narcotics & Stolen
Property) for Populations from 400,000 to 750,000. There are more
than 1100 programs in operation today.

Crime Stoppers is one of the best examples of community-based
policing, and together with our partners in the media, the police and
the general public our Volunteer Board of Directors continues to work
hard to help solve crime and make our communities safer places to
live. Manitoba Crime Stoppers has been serving the citizens of rural
Manitoba since 1985.

Tips have resulted in the seizure of more than 33 million dollars in
stolen property and illegal drugs. Citizens of Rural Manitoba are
encouraged to call our toll-free number, 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) and
pass information on to the police while remaining completely anonymous.

Help make our communities safer places to live!

Anyone wanting further information can call our Provincial
Coordinator at the toll-free number.
