POT SEIZURE

To The Editor:

Is the seizure of 16 marijuana plants in Norfolk good work?
(Ogdensburg Journal, Wed 19 April).

The seizure eliminates the competition for the Canadian marijuana
growers.

The U.S. war on drugs is an excellent source for support for organized
crime in Canada.

Who supports the seizure most? Organized crime in Canada or the overly
taxed payers of Norfolk?

A Ton of tobacco generates over $40,000 dollars in taxes. How much
would a ton of marijuana generate in taxes?

Could the current trend of dismissing teachers, dropping education
programs while increasing taxes be reversed? At the same time
eliminate marijuana from being sold from every street corner to any
buyer with age not a factor?

There could be an astronomical benefit to the taxpayer to legalize,
regulate, and tax marijuana.

Of course there are those that would disagree with a better education
for our kids while adding relief to the taxpayers.
