WAR ON DRUGS GOES INTO ART FORM

Holy Cross Catholic School recently had a group come down from Toronto to
do a presentation called Smoke Screen. The play focused on a student who
habitually used drugs as a way to escape the pressures of life. Inevitably,
it sent him in a continuing spiral of pain and misery. The play was
insightful and funny, while being serious and having a strong message: If
you do drugs, you will suffer consequences.

Children today are experimenting with drugs at an early age. If they are to
be educated about the dangers of doing drugs, it needs to be on a level
they can easily understand, and even find it funny.

Kids and drugs is a serious issue, one not to be taken lightly. Smoke
Screen made the message clear. It had an impact on those you witnessed it.

Smoke Screen was a great way to educate students, and it will hopefully
deter them from using drugs. Kids need to be educated about the choices
they make, as well as the consequences of their actions.

The Niagara News would like to thank the creators of Smoke Screen for their
efforts in the war on drugs.

Keep up the good work.
