GOD BLESS THE DOCTORS

This is in response to the Feb. 13 letter, "No scientific evidence of
pot's benefits." First, if there are no benefits why is it in pill
form and has been for the last 25 years?

Since my face is the picture the letter writer saw in such distress, I
ask her to go to her local hospice office and cancer ward and ask them
herself, as that may be the only way to change her prejudices. As to
the doctors, I'll tell you about the doctor who wrote my prescription:
He bravely prescribed marijuana to me in 1995.

He has been hounded by the DEA and had his practice and freedom
threatened. He is one of the most-informed doctors on marijuana in
this country. He has studied this issue for 40 years. He was one of
the doctors who put together the presidential report on marijuana for
President Nixon in 1972-73. I'm sure if it wasn't for the DEA the
number of doctors stepping forward would be tenfold. God bless the
brave doctors who risk their all so some can have comfort for a little
while.
