I'M NO CRIMINAL

As one of the many seriously ill South Dakotans depending on the medical marijuana initiative's passage, I want to thank you for your support for this compassionate measure.  If it does not pass, I could end up in jail for trying to live as normally as possible.

For 20 years, I have had multiple sclerosis.  I have tried numerous prescription medications, but none of them have worked on my incredible stiffness and spasms.  When I wake up, I am nearly paralyzed, unable to move.

The one medicine that has preserved my mobility is marijuana.  It also relieves incredible pain and spasms.

I am not alone; a new study found that one in eight multiple sclerosis patients use marijuana to treat their illnesses.

I have had over a half-dozen neurologists across the country state about my illness: "Yes, it has been proven beneficial for MS symptoms; just don't get busted."

I am a nice person, college-educated, who didn't ask nor do anything to acquire this disease that has robbed me of most of my life! I am not a criminal!

Protect doctors and patients from arrest.  Vote yes on Measure 4.
