CANDIDATES

The Associated Press has asked the major candidates for governor 100
questions to help voters gage the politicians on top state and
national issues and some that touch on there values, their life, and
how they spend their time. The candidates are Republican John Faso and
Democrat Eliot Spitzer.

L.I. TRAFFIC

What would you do about traffic congestion in and out of Long Island's
Hampton?

FASO: "I have a plan to address the infrastructure needs of this state
to help all New Yorkers. A major portion of this is to use the
gasoline sales tax for pay-as-you-go financing."

SPITZER: "The traffic situation in Long Island places a tremendous
burden on economic growth, residents and tourism. We need to encourage
greater use of public transportation, whether that is the essential
addiction of a third track to Long Island Rail Road or simply more
people utilizing existing modes of mass transport."

CASINOS

Will you support more casinos to be opened?

FASO: "Where appropriate, I have supported casinos in traditional
resort areas of our state."

SPITZER: "I believe casinos can play a role in job creation and
economic development in our state and I have consistently supported
the expansion of gaming in the state.

POT SMOKERS

Have you ever used marijuana?

FASO: "Yes."

SPITZER: "Yes."
