A VICTIM OF THE WAR ON DRUGS

Here's another classic example of what's wrong with the war on
drugs.

Diane Soule, by all accounts in the article, was described by the many
people who knew her as "dearly beloved," "she's a nice lady" and
"never accused of doing anything inappropriate at school or with a
child" in 32 years!

Yet she was immediately removed from her teaching job for getting
caught after hours using an illegal intoxicant. What she chooses to
use in her body is no one's business but hers. She is still a great
teacher and kind person whose only crime was sampling a forbidden fruit.

The now typical anti-drug hysteria over someone's personal choice will
ruin yet another person's life. Like millions in American's today
persecuted for their choice of forbidden fruits, our drug policy
leaves a wake of destroyed lives, forfeited properties, broken homes
and dreams.

Our leaders in government insist drugs will wreck your life and the
drug policies they have created will make sure that happens. Loss of
jobs, property, driving and voting rights are among the many penalties
mandated against the public.

We need drug policies based on science, compassion, health and human
rights. People should join the Drug Policy Alliance today to help. See
them at www.drugpolicyalliance.org/homepage.cfm.
