Sfrete du Quebec officers seized 6, 423 plants in Lachute, Grenville-sur-la-Rouge, Saint-Andre-d'Argenteuil, Brownsburg-Chatham and Wentworth. Pot plantations are expanding, says the police force, relating that in 2005, the SQ in the Laurentides and LanaudiPre regions confiscated 137,656 cannabis plants, compared to 121,870 in 2004. Since the beginning of 2006, more than 110,000 were seized in these two regions. "Cisaille" was launched in 1999 by the SQ, which continues to urge the public to help police cope with the growing phenomenon.
