SHERIFF'S OFFICE SHOULDN'T ASSUME ALL KIDS USE DRUGS

There really are teenagers and young adults still within our community
that do not drink and do drugs.

My daughter was one of the founders of Stand Tall Don't Fall, and was
the creator of the name. She attends college at UNR, and she still
chooses not to drink or do drugs.

My son and his friend have created a car club. It supports alcohol and
drug abstinence. It is for fun and to give them and their friends
something clean to do with their time for their last year of high
school. As parents, we are so proud that they have found something
productive to do with their free time!

They were harassed, in front of my son's place of employment, by "The
Gang Unit," including Sheriff Furlong. My son was sworn at and called
bad names. For "The Gang Unit" to use bogus threats to intimidate him
to give up his constitutional right is a violation of the police
officers' oath to support the Constitution and represent our city.

It seems "The Gang Unit" is having a problem distinguishing between
drug dealers and gangs from innocent kids having entertaining
conversation. Is this a subtle abuse of power or an inability to do
their jobs?
