IT'S TIME TO END THE WAR ON MARIJUANA

After heroin-laced marijuana made its way to young adults in Douglas
County, isn't it about time Colorado takes the next big step in
controlling this very safe drug ("Heroin found in marijuana in
Douglas County," Metro, Dec. 16)? Colorado already has decriminalized
small amounts to a mere fine, so why not regulate the sale and, more
importantly, the quality and safeness. I would feel at ease
purchasing marijuana from a licensed dealer rather than on the black market.

There would be no longer a need to fight the war on this drug, which
in my opinion is less dangerous than alcohol. With marijuana, one
does not have blackouts or poisoning from using too much. Let's
support any legislation that might help get this accomplished.
