Raich ( www.angeljustice.org/ ) Bookmark: http://www.mapinc.org/mmj.htm (Cannabis - Medicinal) COURT WAS OUT OF ORDER The Supreme Court's vote to allow federal law to trump state medical marijuana laws is in violation of the rights of the members of those states. The passing of Proposition 215 in 1996 is an example of how the power to govern still rests in the voices of individuals. When the highest court in our country effectively ignores the collective will of the majority of Californians, one must stop and ask: Whose will is being done if not the will of the people? The federal judicial branch has no business allowing a federal policing force to intercede in private affairs. Furthermore, if our elected representatives are stripped of their state and local power because of a federal decree, it is not then the collective social majority in agreement that determines law, but the will of authoritarian sects of ideologues.
