MAN BADLY INJURED AFTER GROW HOUSE EXPLOSION

A man suffered extensive life threatening burns when a basement marijuana
grow-lab exploded.

An explosion and subsequent fire occurred late last week at a home on
Stanley Street.

At the time of the incident, a 42-year-old resident ran out of the house
engulfed in flames and was helped by a neighbour who doused the man with
water from a garden hose.

The man was then airlifted to Sunnybrook and Women's College Health
Sciences Centre Burn Unit. Another man and a woman were in the building at
the time of the incident but were unharmed.

Police seized $50,000 worth of dried marijuana and two kilograms of
cannabis resin valued at $25,000 from the home. Damages to the building and
contents are estimated at $200,000 and criminal charges are pending.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 22 Division
police at 416-808-2200 or Crime Stoppers at 1800-222-TIPS.
