RESEARCH SHOWS MEDICAL MARIJUANA HELPS MANY PEOPLE

Where did Bill Moore (Your View, May 19) get his information on marijuana?
Obviously, not from any credible source. The research that I am familiar
with contradicts his statements in every possible way. Has he not heard
that the brain produces its own chemicals that are very similar to those
found in cannabis. Unlike alcohol, cannabis has never been shown to cause
any damage to the brain of any kind or cause even one death in the
thousands of years it has been used by man.

As far as addiction goes, the research that I am familiar with says that
caffeine is more addictive than marijuana. Until the 1930s, marijuana was
prescribed in many common pharmaceuticals that were very useful indeed.
Compared to many prescribed drugs, marijuana is by far the safest and least
toxic. Today, many people are helped by the use of medical marijuana. The
false information Moore provides helps no one.
