LET'S RECRUIT NEW TROOPS FROM RANKS OF PRISONERS
More and more articles are being printed about the inability of our armed
forces to recruit enlistees. I have a suggestion:
Currently in the United States we have over 2 million people in prison.
Surely we can find 100,000 young men/women among them who would be willing
to exchange their prison time for service in our Army?
We wouldn't recruit murderers or other violent males/females, but there
must be many incarcerated for less-than-major offenses. I know there are
many in jail/prison for drug-related offenses. Let them join up.
We'd solve our recruitment problem, and would free-up prison space for the
violent criminals.
