INDONESIAN POLICE PROBE 'SECOND RINGLEADER' THEORY

Indonesian police say they now believe there may have been two
ringleaders among the nine Australians accused of smuggling heroin
from Bali.

Police in Bali still believe Sydney man Andrew Chan masterminded the
attempt to smuggle nine kilograms of heroin to Australia.

But they say evidence from other suspects points to Brisbane man Tach
Duc Nguyen as a second ringleader. They still do not know where the
heroin was bought.

At least three suspects claim they were forced to take part in the
drug run, and threats were made against their families if they refused.

The strain of incarceration is already taking its toll, with one
suspect briefly hospitalised for stress, and others complaining of
sleepless nights.

It could still be days, if not weeks, before charges are laid.
