BLAMING POT FOR DEATHS IS BUNK

In his letter published in the March 16 Gazette, Ronald Ingram
enclosed a poem and a diatribe.

In the diatribe, he stated that smokers of pot are guilty in the
deaths of the four RCMP officers in Mayerthorpe. He states incorrectly
that the officers were there to take pot off the streets, when in fact
they were there to repossess a car and only stumbled across the
personal grow op in the quonset. They had no previous knowledge of its
existence, nor is there any hint that it was growing for sale.

Mr. Ingram, by your logic, the person who drank alcohol during its
prohibition period was guilty of the St. Valentine's Day massacre and
the blinding of thousands through contaminated booze. What bunk.
