SO FAR, NO CRYSTAL METH ARRESTS OR CHARGES

Recent emphasis on crystal meth use in the city is more an effort to
prevent a problem than a response to an existing one, says a local police
detective.

"From what we're seeing here, I would say we're where we want to be as far
as it becoming a problem," said Sgt. Marc Girard of the Moose Jaw Police
Services. "To say that it's running rampant around town, no."

Methamphetamine, also known as crystal meth, is a cheap, addictive and
potentially deadly drug. Its use causes a 30-minute rush, followed by seven
to eight hours of increased heart rate and blood pressure, as well as euphoria.
