MAYOR DANGLES P3M FOR INFO ON SHABU LABS

* Says the reward will be P5-million for those who can kill shabu lab
operators

MAYOR Rodrigo R. Duterte has dangled a P3-million bounty for anyone
who can give information on existing shabu laboratories in Davao City.

The mayor said he will not stop from going after those involved with
the illegal drugs trade.

"For any Dabawenyo who can discover and report any shabu laboratory in
the city, I am raising the reward to P3 million but if you will kill
those operators of these laboratories, I will even give you P5
million," Duterte said.

Duterte added they are eyeing another suspected shabu laboratory in
the city but he refused to give more details as surveillance
operations are still underway.

"Kamong mga police, military ug mga civilian, if you catch anybody nga
naay factory sa shabu, arrest them," Duterte said.

The mayor added that the policemen, military and any ordinary citizen
can arrest anybody without a warrant of arrest on three situations,
and these are when a suspect is committing a crime, about to commit a
crime or has already committed the crime.

Simultaneous raids were conducted by joint elements of the Philippine
Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and police authorities including an
alleged shabu laboratory in Dumoy, Toril on December 31, 2004.

The raid resulted to the death of six Oriental-looking men after a
shoot-out with the police authorities and the confiscation of 129
kilograms of shabu worth P152 million.

Another raid in a warehouse in Agdao, Davao City on January 5 yielded
shabu manufacturing equipments.

These were already destroyed by the government.
