UNDERCOVER DRUG BUSTS AT LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS WERE RIGHT THING TO DO

To the editor:

It seems to me that you have waltzed into our community to use your bully pulpit for your personal goals.  You have badly mis-read our community by taking a stand against the very well though out and executed job by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's office to help catch drug dealers targeting our children.

Despite your weak arguments about mis-leading the community, as a parent I heartily endorse any effort by the School District or our law enforcement agencies to catch these criminals and bring them to justice.

I also feel that the tactics used are perfectly reasonable.  When you are dealing with dirt, you have to act like dirt yourself to catch them.

I admonish you and The Jupiter Courier to wake up and get to know the people you serve before you make high sounding but ill-informed statements about what is right or wrong in our community.

As far as I am concerned, I would like to see a continuing program to use undercover officers to infiltrate and catch the scum that is polluting our children before our eyes.

I can tell you that my two high school-aged children have been positively impacted by the fact that the undercover operation was undertaken in their schools.  They and their friends will think twice about associating with potential drug dealers in their schools.
