TIME TO RE-CRIMINALIZE SALE OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO

In response to the article "Governor considers booze tax" (Jan. 25):
Considering our governor's care about the health and welfare of all
Alaskans and his adamant opposition to marijuana and substance abuse,
I would like to make a suggestion. Let's re-criminalize the selling of
alcohol and tobacco. Social costs would bottom out and heaven knows
our roads would be safer. The savings from money and manpower to the
troopers would be astronomical. I bet they would support this. My
opinion is that as long as this governor opposes marijuana but
supports two of the most deadly substances known to mankind, he is no
more than a common hypocrite who is for sale to the alcohol and
tobacco lobbyists. How about it, Frank?
