MONEY MUST BE FOUND TO FUND REHAB CENTRE

I am appalled and deeply saddened at the prospect of the Salvation
Army having to close its door to those in need of help in fighting
addiction. I have done volunteer work there with the men in the
program and have seen first-hand the encouraging results and progress
these men have made when given the proper tools and counselling to
help them regain control over their lives.

With all the squandering of taxpayers' money and millions for a new
casino (which will bring more addiction), surely there must be
$300,000 for a program so worthy. Putting aside the fact that the
crime rate will definitely go up when these men have nowhere to go and
must feed their addictions, there is the human side. People will
surely die without proper education and assistance - make no mistake
about it.

I pray that there is a solution to this situation and that the
Salvation Army will be able to continue to provide the aid that is so
desperately needed in this area. I will be sending Dwight Duncan a
letter expressing my concerns and encourage others to do the same.
