OUR TIMING WAS PERFECT

Re: "Hits and Misses - Timing is everything," Oct. 29 Editorials.

I was the guy who coached your kids in basketball and tutored them on 
homework from first through 11th grade. I was the guy who led singing 
at your church for 13 years, who volunteered at Central Dallas Ministries.

But now I am very sick. I was the center of a recent medical 
marijuana demonstration and read that our timing was "awful." No, my 
friends, the timing was perfect.

America needs to finally wake up and see that "good" people who are 
now also "sick" people have nothing to do with illicit drug use - for 
I was also the one who counseled your kids to just say "no."

The objectives of Red Ribbon Week and a drug-free America are noble. 
The calling of those who reach out to touch the sick and downcast is 
even more grand.

Isn't that what Jesus said?
