METH MADE EASY

The ingredients needed to manufacture methamphetamine can be
purchased in Quesnel, but the addictive drug will probably get
trafficked into the city if it gets more popular, said Const. Gord
Gill of the Quesnel RCMP's drug section.

"It's hard to say, but our intelligence has led us to believe it's
brought in from outside," Gill said. "But it's not impossible that it
could be made locally."

Certain ingredients can be extremely volatile which makes
methamphetamine labs dangerous, not just for the meth makers and
police, but for residents in the surrounding area, he added.

The list of ingredients needed to make methamphetamine are also used
to make battery acid, drain cleaner and matchsticks.

Red phosphorous, the sensitive material at the end of matchsticks, is
an ingredient for methamphetamine.
