MIAMI MAN ARRESTED IN ANOTHER COLLIER POT HOUSE RAID

Latest Find In Golden Gate Estates Nets 14 Plants, Grow Equipment

Another man has been charged in Collier County with growing marijuana indoors.

Counting the most recent raid, 23 people have been charged this year 
with growing marijuana in Collier houses. Thirty houses have been raided.

Sheriff's drug agents have seized 3,074 plants and harvested 
marijuana worth more than $3 million, along with confiscating 
$182,000 worth of marijuana growing equipment.

In connection with the lucrative indoor marijuana growing operations, 
three men and a woman were murdered this past June in one of the pot 
grow houses. That investigation is continuing.

In the latest bust Friday, sheriff's narcotics agents arrested [name 
and address deleted].

He was booked into the Collier County Jail on charges of growing 
marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers seized 14 plants worth $14,000 and confiscated $20,000 worth 
of marijuana growing equipment.

The operation fits the same profile of most marijuana grow house 
busts, which have occurred in [location deleted], a rural area with 
2.5-acre to 5-acre lots, according to detectives.

Most of the people arrested come from the Miami area, where the 
marijuana harvested in the houses is shipped, investigators said.
