STONERS DON'T GET IT

(Re: "Boycott ganja," In Case You Missed It, Aug. 18.) Growing marijuana in 
America's parks and forests is a direct consequence of an insane drug 
crusade. Rather than boycotting ganja, we should legalize it, regulate it 
and tax it. With legalization and regulation, there will no longer be any 
problems with environmental damage from outlaw pot growers because 
legalization will end the black market and marijuana will be grown on 
regular cropland. The destruction of protected public lands is another 
unintended negative result of a lunatic reefer madness campaign that serves 
no useful purpose.
