10TH OVERDOSE IN 2 WEEKS IN VANCOUVER'S SKID ROW

Vancouver -- Another long time drug user has died in Vancouver's skid row,
bringing the number of fatal overdoses in the troubled neighbourhood to 10
in less than two weeks.

The latest casualty was a 49-year-old man who died alone Tuesday night in a
rooming house on the seedy Hastings Street strip, said Vancouver Police
spokesman Constable Howard Chow.

Someone spotted a man lying on the floor though a window and called for help.

Paramedics arrived but the man was dead.

Const. Chow said police are still waiting for toxicology tests on the
victims before they say for sure what is killing addicts.
