OTHER DRUG-RELATED ARRESTS ALONG THE BORDER

October 2001: About $150,000 in Canadian currency was seized from a 
Canadian citizen who illegally entered the United States by crossing Rainy 
Lake near International Falls, Minn. The seizure was believed to be drug 
related.

October 2002: About 10 pounds of marijuana was seized at a North Dakota 
border crossing by U.S. and Canadian officials.

November 2002: A U.S. citizen illegally entered Minnesota from Canada by 
raft via the Rainy River. Ontario provincial police recovered about 
$100,000 near where the subject departed Canada.

January 2003: About 30 pounds of marijuana was seized at the Pembina Port 
of Entry.

August 2003: Federal and state officials in North Dakota seized 225 pounds 
of marijuana.

November 2003: Canadian and U.S. officials seized 1,235 pounds of marijuana 
at a border crossing in Portal, N.D. The stash was mingled with peat moss 
in a commercial tractor-trailer.

March 2004: 61 pounds of marijuana was seized at the Roseau Port of Entry 
by U.S., Canadian and Minnesota authorities.
