BUD: WHAT IS IT? A high-grade marijuana grown hydroponically indoors. It's named for its original cultivation in British Columbia, though seeds are now shipped and grown anywhere. With special fertilizers, steroids and plant hormones, B.C. bud can be grown year-round. While home-grown marijuana in the 1970s contained about 2 percent THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), B.C. bud can contain as much as 25 percent of the potent chemical. - --- MAP posted-by: Beth
