Morden Police Made One Of Their Largest Drug Busts In History,
Seizing Almost A Quarter Of A Million Dollars Worth

Morden police made one of their largest drug busts in history,
seizing almost a quarter of a million dollars worth of narcotics and materials.

Two people were arrested and charged following a July 28 raid on a
Nelson St. home.

As a result of an ongoing investigation over several months, the
police executed a search warrant on the residence, shutting down a
marijuana grow operation.

At least a half dozen police and RCMP officers were involved in the
raid, which attracted quite a bit of attention with the property
being cordoned off with police caution tape.

Marijuana, hash oil and several firearms were seized during the
search, along with other items seized under the proceeds of crime regulations.

Police chief Brad Neduzak said the potential street value of the
drugs seized is about $220,000.

The value of the equipment used in the operation itself and the other
items seized is yet to be determined.

An adult male and female are charged with production of a controlled
substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled
substance, and firearms offences.

The investigation is continuing with the potential of more charges at
a later date.
