STUDENTS NEED STERN EXAMPLE, NOT SPRAYS

THE EDITOR:

Re: 'Board wants to start squirting students,' Times, June 24.

I strongly agree with Cameron Wong's letter ['Drug-spray kit would
create false positives,' July 1].

I am sure school district personnel could come up with a better way
of checking for drug use than violating our rights. I'd rather see a
more stern approach like an officer in our schools. They are trained
professionals that are able to act, report and approach the situation
in a better way then some of the personnel that the districts have
hired these days.

At least officers are checked thoroughly. They will also protect the
rights and privacy of our children, youth, young adults and family in
a very professional manner - better then what I have seen in our schools.

Districts should really look at their own and stop scaring students,
parents and personnel with intimidation, job loss, flagging and not
reporting. Don't forget the code of silence.

I would love to go and spray their wallets, purses, handbags and
cars. It is so different when the shoe is on the other foot and rules
only apply to some. Look in your own backyard first.
