ANTI-DRUGS AGENCY GOES ONLINE

The Dangerous Drugs Board recently opened up a new website
(www.ddb-ph.com) in an effort to expand the reach of its information
campaign.

DDB Executive Director Jose Calida, in a statement, said the new site,
which is still a prototype, features old and new regulations related
to drug policies, statistics on the country's drug situation, and
schedules of the DDB's nationwide activities.

It also carries the full text of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as
the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act, which is the basis for the
creation of the DDB.

According to Calida, surfers can also register online for Barkada
Kontra Droga, a nationwide organization of people opposed to the use
and proliferation of drugs.

The site also specifies the DDB's organizational hierarchy and the
contact details of its officials, allowing online visitors to contact
the right office for specific matters related to drug abuse.

The DDB said it would an online reporting and complaint system to the
site.
