LISBON TAXPAYERS

To The Editor:

Thank you Chris O'Brian for going against the grain, siding with the
cash strapped taxpayer [Lisbon Resident Upset with Home Assessments,
Ogdensburg Journal May 13].

I don't want to shock Tony LeBarge or Steve Jemison, but Randy LeMay
is by no means alone. That was obvious by the packed office in Lisbon
Thursday! Every taxpayer should support Mr. LeMay and thank him for
his courage to say what we all are thinking - no more tax increases.

I urge every taxpayer that got an increase in their assessment to go
to the scheduled meetings. Maybe it's time that 'every' taxpayer sounds off.

On the same page of the Ogdensburg Journal, Sen. Schumer wants $650
million more tax dollars? The money is not for our military in Iraq,
the homeless, or the uninsured. The tax dollars are for reinforcement
of law enforcement to police U.S. citizens under the new cash cow of
the government 'war on terrorism '. As you read the article, the money
is actually for school officers, officers overtime pay, and drug task
forces.

A few of us tax payers can speak up, but we will not be any help to
you if you don't speak up too.
