ASHCROFT HAS HISTORY OF CRUSHING FREEDOMS

Let's stop knocking Attorney General John Ashcroft's buck-passing and
finger-pointing. After all, in early 2001, he was a busy little man. He had
an unprecedented outbreak of freedom to squelch. Seven states had voted to
legalize medical marijuana for their citizens suffering terrible pain, and
at the same time Oregon had legalized physician-assisted suicide, actually
permitting human beings to die with dignity.

I guess we can all understand that pain-ridden and dying Americans being
allowed relief is a much greater threat to our country than terrorism. The
sad thing is that many in the Bush regime still believe it.
