INTERNATIONAL DRUG RING SMASHED

THREE men who police believe were part of an international drug syndicate
are expected to appear in a Brisbane court today.

A man aged 41 and two men aged 33 will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates
Court to face a series of charges including trafficking cocaine, heroin,
amphetamines and ecstasy.

Queensland Police Service and Australian Crime Commission officers
yesterday executed search warrants on 21 businesses and addresses,
arresting nine people on 27 charges.

Under the Proceeds of Crime Act $5.8 million in property was seized.

The other six people will appear in court at a later date.

The raids netted large amounts of cocaine and heroin. Some of the property
seized included a block of units at Enoggera, three inner city West End
apartments, luxury cars and a jet ski.

A number of bank accounts were also frozen.
