What is 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine? - MDMA is better known by its
street names XTC, go, disco biscuit, cristal, X, Tic-Tacs, Red Rockets,
White Doves, White Lightning and hug drug.

- - Ecstasy is a chemically modified amphetamine that comes in a pill or
tablet form, which holds hallucinogenic and stimulant properties that when
taken overloads the central nervous system.

- - Ecstasy is closely related to the "rave scene" as the drug of choice, but
it comes with some risk factors when ingested.

- - Depending on the situation, the human body may suffer kidney or heart
failure because of high body temperatures and dehydration.

- - "Individuals who use Ecstasy at raves should be advised to wear loose,
thin clothing, take breaks from dancing and drink plenty of water or other
non-alcoholic beverages," the Addiction Research Foundation advises.

- - Ecstasy, as a street drug, is commonly mixed with heroin, cocaine, crystal
methamphetamine, opium or Ketamine and is one of the main drugs of choice
manufactured and sold by biker gangs like the Hells Angels.

- - Experts say Ecstasy (MDMA), was first developed as an appetite suppressant
in Germany in 1914.
