WARPED SENSIBILITIES

My hat is off to Hieger. His comments on how ineffective and wasteful
the war on drugs has been are a breath of fresh air. When young
students are told horror stories of marijuana, most refrain from using
it. But then, a couple of years later, some of their friends end up
trying it. Amazingly, they don't end up in comas and going crazy.
Teens immediately begin to mistrust all that they have been told about
drugs. Next, they are trying harder drugs because they think
everything bad they've ever heard about cocaine and methamphetamines
are just scare tactics.

Honesty is the best policy when it comes to education of any
sort.
