CEBU CITY - Agents of the United States Drug Enforcement Unit (US-DEU)
began yesterday a three-day tactical training of local drug-enforcement
units in Cebu, which started with the presentation of the international
drug situation.

US-DEU special agent Timothy Teal, touted as one of the best DEU trainors
in the world, will guide local agents in drug law-enforcement techniques
and tactical training, among others.

The Cebu City government has appropriated R75,000 for the tactical training
that will end on Nov. 24.

During the three-day training, the presentation will focus on the
international drug situation and lectures on DEA Philippine Drug
Enforcement Agency law-enforcement techniques, as well as tactical training.

Some 150 personnel from the Cebu City Police, PNP regional headquarters,
Region 7 PDEA office, National Bureau of Investigation as well as judges,
fiscals and city and barangay officials were in attendance during the first
day of training.

The lecture on law enforcement techniques will be attended by selected law
enforcement agents numbering not more than 40, while the tactical training
will be attended by those who joined the lectures the previous day.
