DRUGS: LEGALIZATION REDUCES CRIME

Dear Editor,

Before expressing an opinion on Mr. Barth's view [Legalization the
answer, Sept. 21 Letters to the Editor, Langley Advance News], Ken
Marsh [Legalization results without proof, Oct. 1 Letters, Advance
News] should have tried to do the same research he did.

For legalization of cannabis, we have studies that cover
decades.

When laws are based in racism, it is proper for us to be angered by
people who disagree with us, especially when they have zero scientific
evidence to back up their claims.

It's much like religious fanatics telling us homosexuality is
unnatural, when almost every species exhibits it in nature, thus
defining the very basis of "natural."

At the very moment of legalization of any drug, alcohol included, the
crime rates dropped massively. How can anything but the ending of the
prohibition have somehow brought the crime down?
